    • Rewards points. The HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card allows cardholders to earn 1 Star Alliance Point per $1 spent on eligible purchases and overseas transactions. There is no cap on how many Star Alliance Points can be earned, and they have no expiry date. However, the highest earn rate only applies for the first $3,000 in a statement month, then drops to 0.5 Star Alliance Points per $1 spent. Star Alliance Points can be transferred to frequent flyer programs of participating airlines — Air Canada, Air New Zealand, EVA Air, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, Thai Airways, and United Airlines — then redeemed for flights or upgrades. This choice provides flexibility and makes it easier to find award seats on the dates you want to travel.
    • Sign up bonus. Spend at least $4,000 on eligible purchases within 90 days of opening your account and get Star Alliance Gold Status. Should you choose to be gold with Singapore Airlines or United, you'll also get lounge access and priority check-in when flying with Virgin Australia.

    • Annual fee. This card comes with an initial fee of $0 and an ongoing annual fee of $499 p.a.
    • Balance transfers. The HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card offers a balance transfer offer of up to 90% of your credit limit, with a 2% balance transfer fee and a 0% introductory rate for 12 months, reverting to 21.99% p.a.
    • Cash advances. With this card, you will be charged 21.99% p.a. on any cash advances made, with interest accruing immediately from the transaction date. HSBC will charge a one-off fee and a percentage of the cash advance amount for any cash advances made with this card.
    • Foreign exchange fee. A 3% foreign transaction fee will be applied to all purchases made in a foreign currency, either online or overseas.
    • Interest-free period. Enjoy up to 55 days interest-free on purchases with the HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card when you have paid your previous balance in full or made the minimum required payment.
    • Purchases. The HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card does not offer an introductory purchase offer. Purchases will attract an interest rate of 19.99% p.a.
